Unpaved City is really nothing. The phrase came into my head a couple of times while driving around for my landscaping business. It solidified in Society Hill, while driving. Not sure why there, but there you have it.
Philadelphia is America's 6th largest city, but it is America's filthiest city. Take a drive up Kensington Avenue north of Lehigh, whistle Dixie whilst walking around the the streets in Temple Town. Debris everywhere.
I wonder if it is just a city government thing where not much really gets down, there's a lot of talk and meetings, but no substantial results. Anyway, the Eagles did win the Super Bowl last year ('24-'25 season).
I think with city workers, there is culture that pervades the thinking process, a "group think," and with so many tasks to do, and with some much overhead with meetings, reports, databases, checkpoints, authorizations, etc., there is an actual dearth of completed work, or completed work well done, not just things checked off on a list. Oh well, the beat goes on.
Enjoy the images, view them with a sense of humor, and hopefully the streets and roads of Philadelphia will get better each day. And the Eagles will win the Super Bowl again. Go Birds!
